The opening two rounds of the 2025 Dunlop V8 Supercars Championship saw Warren Lombard (PepBoys Automotive Ford Mustang) and Thomas Reib (Café 9 Automotive Chevrolet Lumina) sharing the wins, with the pair separated by just two points on the championship log. That changed last time out when Lombard suffered steering rack problems in the first race, allowing Reib to open up a slight gap in the championship.

This weekend (27 and 28 June), they make their way to Red Star Raceway, east of Delmas, where Lombard will be out to close that gap down again. Lombard, however, will not only have Reib to contend with. The hard work put into his car by Terry Wilford (Wilford Racing Ford Mustang) paid off at Zwartkops when he grabbed pole position and took a convincing win in the opening heat. He will be back to prove that it was not just a flash in the pan.

Auke Compaan (Hurricane Automotive Ford Mustang) is third in the championship standings and leads the way in the internal GT2 championship. His competition is likely to come from Wayne Spicer (Wellness Group Jaguar XKR), Steve Herbst (PREI Instrumentation Chevrolet Corvette) and Alan Ryan (Wellness Group Ford Falcon).
The drivers will have three practice sessions during the icy weather expected on Friday, before tackling qualifying at 08:25 on Saturday morning. This will be followed by a ten-lap race at 11:00 and a 12-lap, reverse-grid race at 14:45.
Spectator tickets can be purchased at the Red Star Raceway entrance gate. The event will be broadcast live on the Extreme Festival Presented By Coca-Cola website.
